My family and I live in Orleans which is approximatly 20 minutes from the Ottawa downtown core. We have a large house with 3 bedrooms available for students. We welcome people coming to Ottawa to study English, to work or to visit. If you are looking to rent a room for a short period or extended period of time, both are welcome. The rooms are fully furnished with a television and a a wireless internet connection.
We also speak French, therefore we welcome people whom wish to learn French. We are approximatly 25 minutes from the city of Gatineau in the province of Québec, only a ten-minute walk to shopping malls which include Walmart, grocery stores with international food, Future Shop for electronic equipment, a dollar store, Tim Horton’s (great sandwiches, soup, coffee and donuts), banks, etc.. .
We have bus service just outside our door. We have two beautiful golden labs which are quiet and friendly.
Meals are offered and we can give you a ride once in a while. Airport pickup is available at $25 each.
The rooms includes shared computer, internet, cable, TV in bedroom, pool in backyard with chairs and table so you can go outside to relax and read. Access to bicycles and we have a park (no charge, it's free) just on the other side of the street where you can play soccer, jog or take a walk in the forest.
Our home is very well located with bus, park, very kind people, good neighbourhood not far from Ottawa downtown, don't miss your chance!
Please let us know if you are interested. We are happy to have the experience of hosting people from all around the world. We have been hosting for almost two years and really enjoy it. We had the chance to share our home with many students coming South Korea, Taïwan, Mexico, France, Columbia, Brazil, Slovakia, Guadeloupe and Germany and enjoyed staying with us.

Familie Martel
Ich bin mittlerweile zwei Monate bei Familie Martel.
Lynne und Alain kümmern sich gut um mich, sie helfen mir Dinge zu organisieren, fahren mich irgendwo hin oder holen mich ab (sogar früh morgens oder spät abends), erkundigen sich stetig nach meinem Wohlbefinden und versuchen mir alles so schön wie möglich zu machen.
Mit meinem Zimmer bin ich sehr zufrieden, kurz nach meiner Ankunft wurde auch extra für mich noch ein Spiegel angebracht.
Genauso gut ist das gemeinsame Abendessen hier – abwechslungsreich und lecker. Sonntags gibt es auch ein gemeinsames Frühstück mit gebratenem Speck oder Pfannekuchen.
Insgesamt merkt man wie viel Mühe sich die Martels geben einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen – sie gehen auf Wünsche oder Vorschläge ein und sind offen für neue Ideen.
